Sojourn Serves - Veteran Care

Our mission

The mission of Sojourn Counseling is to provide quality mental health care to anyone, regardless of their ability to pay. We have always provided reduced fee services for veterans, but thanks to generous grant funding from the Alabama Department of Veterans Affairs in 2023, we were able to make our services available for free to veterans and their families. Now, thanks to additional generous funding from the Alabama Department of Mental Health, we are able to continue these services for another year!

We are incredibly grateful for this funding, and consider it a privilege to serve the men and women and their families who so generously sacrificed to serve our country!

Our services

At Sojourn Counseling, we believe that there is hope for healing from trauma and post-traumatic stress (PTS), and we utilize proven modalities of therapy to help restore mental, emotional, and physical health to our clients. EMDR and Brainspotting are the most effective and efficient therapies that we have seen when it comes to processing traumatic memories and experiences that have become stuck in the brain and body. IASIS Micro Current Neurofeedback (MCN) is a remarkable, cutting edge technology that gently restores balance to your brain, bringing quick relief from symptoms like anxiety, depression, insomnia, memory/concentration issues, anger, ADD/ADHD, symptoms of PTS and symptoms of mTBI.
